10 Things Man Utd Need To Learn From City & Liverpool
9. A Never Say Die Attitude
Another trait that Manchester United and their fans used to be familiar with is their never say die attitude. Nights such as the one in Barcelona in 1999 when United stunned Bayern Munich to come back from behind and win the Champions League are ingrained in the club's very history, but went missing last season. Under David Moyes, United looked as though they no longer wanted to fight for the jersey they were wearing, and as a result they only beat one team who finished in the top four in 2013-14 - Arsenal. Again, a plucky, determined approach to the game is something the Red Devils could relearn from City. Manuel Pellegrini's team were the top scorers of goals in the last fifteen minutes of Premier League games last season, and fought to the very last whistle. This characteristic was also evident in 2011-12, when Sergio Aguero scored that famous last-gasp goal against QPR to help his side win the league. United need to rediscover their self-belief and ability to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat if they are to haul themelves back into contention for silverware next season.
