10 Things Newcastle Fans Need To Know About Club Atlas

10. Atlas' Star Players Include Miguel Pinto, Juan Carlos Valenzuela And Gonzalo Bergessio

Who are the Club Atlas players Newcastle fans should be looking out for during this friendly? Well, they have a whole host of internationals - but three of their star players are: Miguel Pinto (Goalkeeper) - A former Chile international who collected 21 caps for his country, Pinto (pictured above) claimed the league title in his home nation in 2009 - the same year in which he won the "best goalkeeper in America" award. The 32-year-old is extremely experienced and will prove a hard nut for NUFC to crack. Juan Carlos Valenzuela (Defender) - Nicknamed "Topo" - which means "The Mole" - due to his ability to get stuck into the opposition, the 31-year-old defender has been capped 22 times by Mexico and provides a brilliant shield in front of Pinto. A real leader in the team, Valenzuela graduated from Atlas' famous academy before leaving and claiming two Mexican titles elsewhere, and then returning this year. He also lifted the CONCACAF Gold Cup with Mexico in 2009. Gonzalo Bergessio (Forward) - The 30-year-old three-cap Argentina international may not be as prolific as he once was but he will still cause serious headaches for the Magpies' defence. At 5ft 10in he is relatively quick and fairly strong, but it is his clever positioning that is his main attribute. Bergessio has played for the likes of Benfica, Saint-Etienne, Catania and Sampdoria in Europe in the past, and he has yet to feature for Atlas in a competitive fixture since joining this summer. Other notable players include: Walter Kannemann (Defender) Aldo Leao Ramirez (Midfielder) Arturo Gonzalez (Midfielder) Juan Carlos Medina (Midfielder) Franco Arizala (Forward)
