3. The Oldest "Clasico" In Mexican Football Is Between Atlas And Their Bitter Rivals CD Guadalajara (El Clasico Tapatio)

"Clasico" rivalries are common in Latin American and Spanish-speaking countries - with "El Clasico", the match between Barcelona and Real Madrid, the most famous of them all. Yet Club Atlas have they very own "Clasico" - and it is a match that is claimed to be the oldest rivalry in Mexican football. Dating back all the way until August 1916, when Club Atlas was founded, the "El Clasico Tapatio" is a 98-year-old rivalry with CD Guadalajara. Unlike Newcastle's five-match losing run against bitter rivals Sunderland, Atlas are unbeaten against CD Guadalajara in their last five games - winning two and drawing three.
