Despite no longer being signed with the UFC, Tito Ortiz is still very much associated with the company so it is in the promotions interest for their former fighter to represent the company well. Indeed, for all MMA fans the name Tito Ortiz is still synonymous with the UFC. As such, it must have been incredibly irritating for the UFC when in the January of this year, Ortiz was driving his Porsche home from an event at the Playboy mansion in Beverly Hills when he crashed at around 4am. Ortiz was arrested for driving under the influence and, if he didn't issue a plea of no contest, would have served up to six months in jail. Instead he has been given 3 years' probation and is required to complete an alcohol education course. Though it may seem like Tito Ortizs contract with UFCs main rival Bellator means that any bad news surrounding the fighter is good news for the UFC, this is not the case Tito has only fought once for Bellator and is still far more heavily associated with the UFC.
