7. So Manchester City Are Probably Going To Win The League...

Kevin De Bruyne is in such a rich vein of form right now that even one of very few fractionally inaccurate balls almost led to the opening goal. Only the post saved Crystal Palace. That's if they are capable of being saved, a question unanswerable in a fixture like this; the bookies might as well have suspended the betting before kickoff.

It was Leroy Sane who pulled the strings and tore Palace apart with a goal and an assist either side of half-time in what was yet another worrying omen for Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace. They need all the time they can muster to save themselves, and conceding when they did underlined their lack of concentration - a trainable quality lacking in a side unable to compensate with moments of brilliance. Man City, of course, suffer no such problem - and perhaps the worst indignity was that forgotten man Fabian Delph scored a screamer to apply the proverbial gloss.

Better sides than Palace will get their pants pulled down by Aguero and company - but with each passing humiliation, a squad already bereft of confidence becomes heartening for fans of Derby County, the Premier League's last morbidly hilarious statistic.
