10 Twitter Accounts Every Sports Journalist Must Follow

3. GetFootballNews - @GetFootballNews - 170,186 followers

Screen Shot 2013 09 10 At 10 56 27 GetFootballNews tweets the mainstream news and views from the football world but also the events that go unnoticed, such as Juan Mata's insistence to break into a key role under Mourinho and Michael Bradley painfully rolling his ankle before Costa Rica v USA. The interesting thing about the GetFootballNews account is the fact that they tweet quotes from football players across the globe, which are helpful when writing articles based on player opinions and their willingness to either improve themselves or how they are looking to perform over the course of a season. Despite not being mainstream, the tweets and retweets shown on my timeline by GetFootballNews are varied and still useful.
