4. Gary Lineker - @GaryLineker - 1,791,119 followers

Screen Shot 2013 09 10 At 10 54 35 On a personal level, Gary Lineker's tweets are very useful to me. His bluntness and humour are a delight to read and his insight into various different situations, based on his experience in the game and from his weekly Match of the Day slot, are intriguing to read about. Out of all the ex-footballers on twitter- Matt Le Tissier, Robbie Savage, etc. - Gary Lineker is definitely worth a follow. Whilst not necessarily providing statistics or up-to-date action, his tweets are generally magnificent and very interesting to read from a personal point of view and whilst I do not agree with some of his opinions, the majority of them are very interesting. Also, when you're around for a spontaneous argument with Piers Morgan, you're in for a treat.
