https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1L3tIATzBQ The UFC has tried to set up this fight at least twice before, and both times it has fallen through. Back before Pettis defeated Benson Henderson to win the UFC lightweight championship, Pettis texted Dana White asking for the Aldo fight. While Aldo felt Pettis was cutting in line at 145, White loved the bout and booked it - only to have it called off due to injury. Pettis would wind up fighting Henderson shortly after and taking the strap, and the rest was history... or so we thought. They'd try again early in the new year, with talk of a catchweight bout or Aldo moving up, but it never came to pass. Now Aldo is out with injury and expected to face Chad Mendes for a second time, while Pettis is matched up with Gilbert Melendez... but this fight remains one of the bouts we most want to see in the 155lb division.
