10 Unmissable Group Stage Fixtures At World Cup 2018
6. Brazil Vs. Switzerland (June 17)
June 17 will give us our first glimpse of the team that everyone loves to watch at the World Cup: Brazil. This year, like so many years before, Brazil head into the tournament as one of the clear favourites to lift the cup, with a really impressive squad and the most expensive player on the planet, Neymar.
An untimely injury curtailed Neymar's last World Cup and the Brazilians were sent packing in one of the most humiliating games in the nation's history, but they'll be looking for vengeance this summer and will hope to get their campaign off to a great start against a tricky Swiss side. Switzerland are often underrated and criticised for playing a rather slow and dull brand of football, but it works for them, with the Swiss being the only team to beat Spain at the 2010 World Cup.
The two teams haven't met often this century, with their most recent encounter being a friendly in 2013 that saw Brazil win 1-0. The Brazilians will want to start their tournament in style, with the likes of Neymar, Coutinho, and Gabriel Jesus eager to get on the scoresheet, but the Swiss should provide a stern test.
