10 World Footballers Premier League Clubs Should Sign This Summer

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane gave Premier League clubs the clearest indication yet that Gareth Bale is on the transfer market this summer when he hauled the Welshman off at half-time of their nearly disastrous Champions League quarter-final second-leg against Juventus.

Despite three European titles in four seasons and a goal-scoring record of more than a goal every other game in the league, patience is said to be wearing thin with Bale at the Bernebeu owing to his proclivity for long spells on the sidelines and apparent inability to learn Spanish.

His injury record, coupled with the fact that he will turn 29 in July, means that the former Tottenham man probably won't command as many suitors as he might have done two or three years ago. You can probably take PSG and Man City, two of the only clubs capable of paying his salary, off the table for starters.

That pretty much leaves Man United and Chelsea, both of whom just so happen to own players previously courted by the Galacticos in the shape of David De Gea and Eden Hazard. Swap deals, so often mooted in the press, rarely actually materialise in reality - but this summer may well buck the trend.
