10 Worst Ever Misses In Premier League History

2. Edin Dzeko vs Stoke, 2014

Edin Dzeko's aforementioned miss was always going to finish high on a list like this. Manchester City had already taken the lead against Stoke through Yaya Toure and substitute Jesus Navas presented the Dzeko with a gilt-edged chance to make it two. Navas squared for his teammate to tap in from four yards but, with the goal at his mercy, the Bosnian got his feet in a tangle and was foiled by his traipsing left leg. With top scorer Sergio Aguero out injured, this was Dzeko's chance to prove to manager Manuel Pellegrini that he deserves to be getting more game time. Instead, his mis-kick now means he hasn't scored in the Premier League since January 29, in the rout against Tottenham Hotspur. And with Aguero nearing full fitness again, and Alvaro Negredo playing well, Pellegrini may take one look at this and realise that Dzeko is only his third-choice striker at Etihad Stadium. We only need to take one look at this and come to the conclusion that it is one of the worst misses the Premier League has ever seen.
