10 Worst January Premier League Signings Of The Last Decade
8. Wilfried Bony - Man City
Given Manchester City are the biggest spenders of the decade, they were inevitably going to appear on this list at some point. Only three entries in, and here we are.
The 2015 January transfer window saw them splash the cash on Swansea City star, Wilfried Bony. City were on the hunt for a player who could score goals but, crucially, needed someone who could play in the Champions League. Bony, at the time, fit the mould.
He'd been on fire for the Swans. Strength, power, and a ruthless streak in front of goal meant he was one of the hottest properties in the Premier League at the time.
Unfortunately for Bony and City, that form never transferred over to Manchester. He struggled for game time and goals and when Pep Guardiola arrived, was immediately made available for transfer.
A move to Stoke City followed before an eventual return to Swansea City. Bony has struggled to ever get back to that initial form he showed for the Swans and currently finds himself out on loan with Al-Arabi.
