10 Worst Man Utd Performances This Decade

1. Man United 1-6 Man City, 2011

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LywTo8IeW2k It€™s a game that they try to forget. But no matter how tightly they squeeze their eyes, or how long they try to suppress the events that unfolded on that Sunday morn in October 2011, they will never truly be able to block out the nightmarish memories of €˜Manchester United 1-6 Manchester City€™. Up until that point, City had just been the €˜noisy neighbours€™ - an inferior upstart kid brother who had recently come into a lot of money, and were beginning to throw their weight around. Ferguson and co. never really took them to be much of a threat in the past - within 90 minutes of swashbuckling and terrorising football at Old Trafford, he had certainly changed his mind. The famous €˜Why Always Me?€™ T-shirt was on display when Mario Balotelli struck for the visitors twice before the break, before Sergio Aguero added a third to truly stun the home crowd following Jonny Evans€™ dismissal. While Darren Fletcher pulled one back for the hosts with ten minutes left, spaces were left open in the back line as the Red Devils poured forward in search of a second goal, and City ruthlessly exposed them thrice more, through strikes from David Silva and a brace from Edin Dzeko.
''It was our worst day ever. It۪s the worst result in my history, ever. Even as a player I don۪t think I ever lost 6-1. I can۪t believe the scoreline. I۪m shattered. It۪s an incredible disappointment.۪۪ - Sir Alex Ferguson, October 2011.
So that's a wrap - what do you think? Have there been any glaring omissions? As always, feel free to leave your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below.
