10 Young Players Who Could Help England Win World Cup 2022
2. Ryan Sessegnon
Some people were actually disappointed that Ryan Sessegnon didn't make it into Gareth Southgate's squad for this World Cup, and that tells you just how good he is. With England, he's already won the U19 European Championship, scoring three goals over the course of the tournament and earning his first call-up to the U21 side. It shouldn't be long at all until we see him with the seniors.
The Fulham youngster, a left-back by trade, converted to a left winger over the course of last season and led the charge as Fulham achieved promotion to the Premier League. At just 18 years of age, Sessegnon managed to score 15 Championship goals for the squad and seems destined to be a key part of any future success the Three Lions might enjoy.
Last season, he became the first ever Championship player to receive a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, sitting alongside top Premier League talents like Leroy Sané and Harry Kane. High praise indeed, but Sessegnon's talents really do seem to justify all the hype, and it'll be fascinating to see how he adapts to the Premier League in the upcoming season.
