Age at first goal: 17 years, 343 days The Everton academy made his first team debut in the 1996/97 season but didn't find the net for the Toffees until the following season. The Bradford born dreadlocked striker netted the second goal in a 4-2 win over newly promoted Barnsley. It was very much a classic mid-90's Everton goal - a deep cross from Watson, a knock down from big Duncan Ferguson, and the young starlet was there to net a half-volley. Goodison Park had found a new hero. What happened next? The fairytale continued for Cadamarteri, at least early on, anyway. He scored a month later in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool, and it seemed as though he had the world at his feet. Unfortunately, the dream did not last. The goal against Liverpool was his last that season. He continued to feature for Everton on a semi regular basis until 2001, though he never surpassed his goal tally of 4 from season 1997/98. Following his release from Everton - following a conviction for assault, he went on to represent a number of lower league clubs, most notably two spells at his hometown club Bradford City. He also represented Sheffield United, Leicester City and Dundee United in a nomadic career, before retiring at the age of 34 following a spell at Carlisle United. Cadamarteri forged a respectable career in the English lower divisions, but much more was expected of him when he burst onto the scene.
