7. DEF: Kyle Walker (Spurs) £5.5m

Having bagged 121 points last term, Kyle Walker rightfully sits near the top of the pile for defenders.

While Spurs ended up crashing and burning last season, in admittedly comical fashion for those without a vested interest, there is no denying that for 85% of the season they were a well-oiled and functioning unit. They had the joint-best defensive record - were it not for a mindless collapse at Newcastle on the last day of the season, they would surely have clung onto that proud record outright.

The likes of Walker and Danny Rose were not only peerless in defence but were also menacing in attack, and offered piercing threats on the flanks. While Walker ended up flopping at the Euros (who among his England colleagues didn’t?), let us not forget that he demonstrated his excellent wide play in the opening game against Russia.

The former Sheffield United man is an excellent full-back and should be a staple in every Fantasy League team.
