11 MORE Players Newcastle Have ALREADY Missed Out On This Summer
9. Carlos Bacca
One of the more far-fetched transfer lines from Newcastle's summer so far. The Columbian international was rumoured to be keen for a move away from reigning Europa League winners Sevilla, and rather mysteriously, Newcastle found themselves in the mix. Bacca scored two goals as he led Los Rojiblancos to a 3-2 win over Dnipro in May, confirming his spot as one of the leading lights in the European game at the moment. His performance in the Europa League final capped off a wonderful season for the forward in which he scored 20 goals and created 28 chances in 37 La Liga appearances, firing Sevilla to a fifth-placed finish. This was a move that was never going to happen due to the players age (28) and the fact he had a £14 million price tag slapped on his head. This would prove to be the case as he would seal a move to the perennial retirement home of European football, AC Milan.
