In his first year at West ham, Shaka Hislop made a huge impression, winning Hammer Of The Year in his position as first choice goalkeeper. Despite an injury keeping him out of most of the following year, Hislop bounced back and put in some strong performances. He was released by Glenn Roeder, who decided to bring in David James instead. He rejoined in 2005 as a backup goalkeeper for the Hammers, seldom seeing much first Premier League action. He did, however, play every game of the 2006 FA Cup, which famously led to a final in which Liverpool narrowly won.
