There has been a lot of talk to far this summer about the future of Newcastle's number nine, but if Friday night was anything to go by then Papiss Cisse is determined to stay at St James' Park this summer. The Senegalese striker played the first half and got on the scoresheet via a powerfully struck side-footed penalty, which flew into the right-hand side of the Heed net. But it was the rest of his display that would have made Steve McClaren questioning the hierarchy's perceived decision to sell last season's top scorer. Cisse was relentless. Paying up top on his own with three just behind can be a thankless task for a forward but he chased everything down, made it a torrid night for the Heed defenders and almost netted another via this sensational over head kick pictured above. If Newcastle do want to sell Cisse, and we can't think of a good reason why they should, then he won't be going without a fight. Shouldn't United be looking to keep players who openly show they want to be there?
