13 Football Moments That Defined 2013

11. Swansea's First Ever Cup Win

Where Bradford suffered heartache on February 24, 2013, Swansea enjoyed jubilation as they won their first major trophy in England and with it qualification for the UEFA Europa League. Though Bradford had eliminated the likes of Arsenal en route to this encounter at Wembley, the result was never in doubt as the Swans blew their opponents away - their 5-0 victory being the biggest ever League Cup win. Swansea's success was especially special as it came in their centenary year, and ensured they would play in Europe for the first time since 1991€“92. Michael Laudrup's men have enjoyed some fabulous encounters abroad this season as a result, including a famous 3-0 win at Valencia's Mestalla Stadium, and will take on Rafa Benitez's Italian giants Napoli in the last-32 of the Europa League next month.
