The college football match between Stanford and California in 1982 has an ending so iconic that the event is simply known as The Play. Stanford Cardinal had scored a field goal with 4 seconds left to lead 20-19. The only chance California had of victory against their big rival was to run back the subsequent kickoff for a touchdown. With five laterals of the ball, what happened next as time expired has gone down as one of the craziest endings in the history of tv sports.
