14 Biggest Premier League Transfer Mistakes Of Summer So Far
13. Tom Ince - Blackpool To Hull City
Tom Ince's agent must have had some interesting phone calls this summer. The Blackpool winger was in demand following a highly-impressive couple of seasons in the Championship, where he scored seven league goals in 2013-14 and 18 in the campaign prior, to earn himself a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year for 201213. Former club Liverpool were keen on taking him back - four years after he began his career as an Anfield academy star - while a number of other Premier League clubs were also interested, including Everton and West Brom. Ince could have had his pick of suitors when his contract at Bloomfield Road expired earlier this summer, and Italian giants Inter Milan even came calling. Most players would jump at the chance of playing for the Italian giants but not Ince, who preferred he'd much rather ply his trade for Hull City instead. This bonkers decision has got to put the midfielder right up there on any list of transfer mistakes and he definitely makes ours. Surely the option of playing European football has to win out over the offer of muddling through relegation battles... Apparently not.
