14 Biggest Premier League Transfer Mistakes Of Summer So Far

11. Morgan Schneiderlin - Southampton To Spurs (Rejected)

Southampton have sold a series of stars this summer with the likes of Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Calum Chambers and Rickie Lambert all leaving the south coast side. However, one player who will be staying put is Morgan Schneiderlin. The midfielder has been linked with a move to Spurs in recent weeks but his club have insisted he is not for sale. This prompted an outburst from the player on Twitter with the irate Frenchman raging: "6 years of an amazing journey #saintsfc DESTROYED in 1 hour !!!" Southampton warned Schneiderlin of his conduct and last week reiterated that he would stay put at St Mary's - whether he liked it or not. Southampton's determination to keep hold of the want-away star could backfire with Schneiderlin effectively going on strike this week by claiming he is "not mentally or physically ready" to play. One bad apple could spoil the proverbial bunch and such an obvious showing of dissent could sink morale at the Saints. To roll out another cliché, no one player is bigger than the club, and perhaps Southampton would be better off selling Schneiderlin before things get any more out of hand.
