14 Well-Known Footballers Who Now Play In The Chinese Super League
12. Jô (Jiangsu Suning)
Remember him? Looks weird without the afro, doesn't he? Brazilian striker Jô looked destined to stardom following a £19 million move to Manchester City back in 2008, having scored 44 goals in 78 games for his previous club CSKA Moscow. It didn't go as planned, however, and the Brazilian struggled to adapt to life in Manchester - being loaned out without much success to Everton and Galatasaray in the following seasons. After spells back in Brazil with Internacional and Atletico Miniero, Jô moved to Al-Shabab in the United Arab Emirates in 2015, where he re-found his goalscoring touch. This prompted Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning to make their move earlier in the month, landing the 28 year-old as one of their marquee players.
