15 Worst Ever Man Utd Premier League Signings

8. Liam Miller

When United landed the then-23-year-old Liam Miller on a free transfer from Celtic in 2004, it was talked up as a massive coup. At the time of his signing, there was one famous line from Alex Ferguson about how he had the tackling of Roy Keane, the passing of Paul Scholes, the crossing of David Beckham, and the skill of Ryan Giggs. So literally the complete midfielder then. Unfortunately for the Old Trafford faithful, it would turn out to be more a case of the tackling of Paul Scholes, the passing of Wes Brown, the crossing of Gabriel Obertan, and the skill of Gary Neville. It became highly apparent very early on that Miller was nowhere near as good as Fergie and his management team believed, with him making just 9 appearances for the Old Trafford club during a two year stay which also saw him take in a loan spell at Leeds United. Since leaving the Theatre of Dreams for Sunderland in 2006, Miller€™s career has taken in 7 different teams across England, Scotland, Australia, and now in Ireland where he€™s recently signed for hometown club Cork City.
