16 Reasons Why Newcastle Have Gone From Mid-Table Mediocrity To Relegation Fodder
3. John Carver's Decision To Openly Accuse One Of His Own Players Of "Deliberately" Getting Themselves Sent Off
Newcastle's 3-0 loss at Leicester City was devastating in so many ways - but the embarrassing defeat was compounded even further when John Carver accused Mike Williamson of getting himself "deliberately" sent off so he could get an "easy way out". Both Williamson and Daryl Janmaat had gotten themselves dismissed in ridiculous circumstances, but Carver publicly called out the former and accused him of giving up. From that moment on it was clear Carver had lost the plot - and the dressing room. Managers cannot openly criticise their players and accuse them of such things, and that is another reason behind why Newcastle have been woeful in recent months - there is a definite disconnect between the head coach and his team.
