20 Best FIFA World Cup Goals Ever

19. Jürgen Klinsmann - Germany Vs South Korea (1994)

Defending the title won four years earlier as West Germany, the now-unified German national team went into the 1994 World Cup as one of the favourites and crashed out to Bulgaria in one of the biggest World Cup upsets.

That elimination came as a particular shock because the earlier rounds had shown Germany, and star striker Jürgen Klinsmann, at their all-conquering best. Never more so than in racing into a 3-0 lead within 20 minutes of their group game against South Korea.

Klinsmann's first goal, in particular, will live long in the memory. A ball into the box from Roma midfielder Thomas Häßler on the right flank found Klinsmann with his back to goal and surrounded by Korean defenders.

With a deft touch of his right foot, Klinsmann flicked the ball up in the air to spin and catch it with a volley on his left, firing it into the bottom corner of the net and giving the keeper no chance to get near it. It was a goal with the perfect combination of fine technique and power.
