20 Best Rangers Players Of The Modern Era

1. Davie Cooper

It'd be interesting to see what many players on this list would be worth in today's inflated football market, but the most intriguing case would be that of Davie Cooper. Making no less than 377 appearances for Rangers from 1977-1989, Cooper is a true Gers legend, and it's a sign of how great a player he was that other clubs even revere him as one of the best to ever come out of Scotland. Signed from Clydebank for a paltry £100,000 (which wasn't even a lot then for a player of his substantial skills), Cooper quickly established himself in the first team picture at Rangers, and scored many remarkable solo goals that only enhanced his reputation. Put it this way, if Rangers had a player like Davie Cooper now, clubs from all over the world would come sniffing, he was that good. Fledgling young players of all ages should look up some footage of the man on YouTube, because he had such amazing poise, balance and ability. Without doubt, Davie Cooper deserves to be named as the greatest Ranger of the modern era. What other Rangers players from the modern era do you feel deserved to be on this list?
