20 English Players Newcastle Should Sign This Summer

10. Tom Carroll

Age: 23 Position: Midfielder Current Club: Tottenham Hotspur (2010-) Previous Clubs: Leyton Orient (loan, 2011), Derby County (loan, 2012), Queens Park Rangers (loan, 2013-14), Swansea City (loan, 2014-15) Estimated Market Value: £5 million League Appearances (Goals) 2014-15: 13 (0) England Under-21 Caps (Goals): 14 (2)
With Swansea City boss Garry Monk appearing increasingly unlikely to sign Tom Carroll on a permanent basis this summer following a season-long loan in which the 23-year-old failed to nail down a first-team place, Newcastle could raid Tottenham Hotspur instead. The 14-cap England Under-21 international is another player who could slot in alongside Jack Colback in the Newcastle midfield and work tirelessly for the team, as well as provide a killer pass going forward. Already with 93 league appearances under his belt, Carroll has a reasonable level of experience and he could develop into a full England international on Tyneside.
