20 Reasons Why Celtic Fans Are Jealous Of Rangers

6. Largest Land Army Ever For UEFA Cup Final

Listen to any number of sources nowadays, and it'd be easy to believe that the incredible sight of nearly 200,000 Glasgow Rangers fans who travelled to Manchester for the 2008 UEFA Cup Final was tarnished by a small minority of police incidents. 42 arrests were made, which is a far cry from the "mass rioting" reported in the mainstream press, there's been more trouble at the average 'Old Firm' game than there was on that day in May, 2008. To put things into perspective, 80,000 Celtic fans made the trip to Seville for their team's 2003 UEFA Cup Final against Porto. That's a difference of 120,000, once again proving that Rangers hold the biggest sway when it comes to support, not only in Scotland, but across the entire length and breadth of the United Kingdom. In addition to the 200,000 actually in Manchester, millions more of a blue persuasion were watching around the globe, giving a true indication of the depth of feeling for Glasgow Rangers. Even in reports trying to downplay the number of Rangers fans who converged upon Manchester, it'd still be impressive! No other club has ever taken as many fans on tour with them, which is an incredible feat.
