As of this article going live, Glasgow Rangers have captured an incredible 117 trophies over their 143 year history as a club, which categorically makes them the most successful professional association football team in the world. The same old arguments routinely crop up surrounding this, stating that Rangers "died" in 2012, but the fact of the matter is that UEFA recognise the club as the exact same one as before, but Scottish football hasn't really liked to let facts get in the way of a good story over the past few years. Celtic's business holdings have changed hands in exactly the same way as Rangers did in 2012, but they are still the same club. In fact, Celtic are the next best team on the list of the world's most successful winners, bagging just under 100 major honours. Unimaginably, Bayern Munich have less than 70 competition wins under their belt, which really shows how dominant Rangers and Celtic have been in Scotland since the professional league system came into existence. Even with Rangers out of the top league for now, Celtic still have a long way to go before matching the record the Ibrox club have pieced together. What other reasons do you feel Celtic fans have to be jealous of Rangers? Do you agree with the choices on this list? Let us know down in the comments section below!
