20 Reasons Why Spurs Fans Are Jealous Of Arsenal
17. Arsenal Offloaded Emmanuel Adebayor Before He Turned Cr*p
The nature of this rivalry is so fierce that only 15 players have ever played for both clubs during their football careers. The most recent name to just that list is one Emmanuel Adebayor.
Togolese striker Adebayor was brilliant towards the latter stages of his Arsenal career, before he left for Manchester City for £25m in 2009. His unforgettable goal celebration against the Gunners at the Etihad would provide Spurs fans with plenty to laugh about, but those tears of laughter would eventually turn to tears of despair.
Adebayor found himself on loan at Spurs in 2011/12 and performed well, prompting The Lillywhites to make the move permanent. But the striker failed to replicate the form of the temporary spell.
Fast forward to 2015 and the 31-year-old is pretty much surplus to requirements. However, with no potential suitors interested in swooping, he continues to receive a hefty weekly wage of £100,000.
In comparison, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla are on £80,000 and £90,000 respectively.
