20 Worst Squads In FIFA World Cup History
5. Haiti (1974)
The 1974 World Cup finals included some unusual names which were far from regulars. Some of these names included the infamous Zaire (remember these for later), East Germany and the nation in question, Haiti. Haiti were surprise entrants to this bizarre World Cup but, quickly showed their inexperience.
The obvious gulf in class between Haiti and their group stage opponents was made apparent almost immediately. Drawn against Poland, Argentina and Italy, this was a group that would have made even the most experienced of World Cup sides eyes water. Haiti lost 1-3 to Italy in the opening game, showing that they may actually have some bite in them. However, this assumption was swept away when they were slaughtered 0-7 by Poland in their second game, before taking a 1-4 defeat against Argentina in the final game.
Haiti's only World Cup campaign ended with three straight defeats and a -12 goal difference.
