25 Players Who Stole A Living From Rangers

9. Juan Manuel Ortiz

Another man eerily similar to Rothen was 'Juanma' Ortiz, who represented the desperation prevalent in the Scottish game when it came to signing somebody, anybody who would come. Baffling everybody, Ally McCoist decided to play the Spaniard out of position during his very first appearance for the club, an opening day draw against Hearts in 2011. Nonetheless, there were ample opportunities for the guy to run at players, a major part of his winger role at previous club, Almeria. With the Spanish side, Ortiz had played 100+ games, but he'd only feature on 10 different occasions for Glasgow Rangers, before being loaned back out to the club he had come from. There was a period of a few months, throughout the Winter of 2011, where Ortiz didn't kick a ball, and he's guilty of being another - in a long line - of players who have warmed the bench at Ibrox Stadium, without having any real impact on what the club is doing on the park. Well, that was approximately £1.5 million wasted!
