A lot of eyebrows were raised when then-manager Walter Smith decided to field a young prodigy of the club's Murray Park training centre, Kyle Hutton for a crucial Champions League match against Manchester United in 2010. Even more incredibly, the youngster was posted in the middle of the park, and put in charge of shutting down the likes of Nani and Paul Scholes. The most shocking part of the story is that Hutton did well, and Rangers were only defeated 1-0 by a dubious late penalty, converted by Wayne Rooney. Going forward, it seemed that the midfielder could become a crucial option for the team, and possibly even a future regular. Despite spells away on loan to other Scottish clubs such as Dunfermline and Partick Thistle, Kyle Hutton has not improved, and has done nothing to deserve the chances he's received in the Rangers first team. Ally McCoist seemed so intent on fielding him that it often worked against the manager. It seems Hutton will be released once his contract runs out this Summer, he isn't part of current boss Stuart McCall's plans.
