3. Mo Farah
Events: 5000m, 10000m Not many athletes became as famous after London quite so much as this man did. The Somali-born Englishman ended decades of African dominance of the long-distance events by winning both the 5000m and the 10000m events at the London Olympics, delighting the entire English nation with his exuberance and unique celebration, the "Mobot". He currently holds the World, Olympic, and European titles for both events, and he became the subject of internet memes all over the world last summer, after an iconic picture of him running became used in a series of pictorial memes around the globe. 2013 has been another good year so for Mo. Despite finishing only 4th in the 3000m at the World Indoors, he broke Steve Cram's 28-year-old British record in the 1500m, running 3.28 for the 6th fastest time in history, and the fastest time ever run by a European. The omens are good for a performance from the 30-year-old. That said, he'll have his work cut out, with strong Ethiopian and Kenyan teams to contend with in both events.
