5 Best Premier League Strikers Right Now

3. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

It hasn€™t exactly been a good season for Man Utd with a lot more problems than answers. However, one possible answer for manager David Moyes is to build his team around the talents of Wayne Rooney. The England striker has performed excellently this season in what can only be described as very difficult circumstances. We have always known that Rooney has the talent to play in a role that allows him to create chances for others as well as score goals himself, that and his ability to play in a number of different positions makes him a very powerful weapon. This season the player has scored eight goals and turned provider to assist six goals for his teammates. Mesut Ozil is the only player in the Premier League that has assisted more goals this season. Rooney has also had a shots per game ratio of 3.2 this season, showing that he is certainly getting into some very good areas, while his average rating of 7.6 places him as the seventh best player this season. Rooney has now scored over 200 goals in his career, and will be hoping that he can exceed his best league return of 27 strikes this season. It will also be interesting to see if any clubs show an interest in the player during the upcoming transfer window.
