5 Bizarre Incidents At UFC On Fox 13

5. Nate Diaz Misses Weight, Skips Press Event, Walks Out On UFC Promo Interview, Eats $10,000 Fine

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKsZsJAYKoU We could probably have an article dedicated to weird moves Nate Diaz pulled this week. Add in his brother Nick and you've got a nearly endless like of bizarre antics and questionable life decisions. That said, Nate Diaz is normally the more reserved of the two, so it was a surprise when he skipped a mandatory UFC meeting during fight week. It was an even bigger surprise to see him miss weight on Friday, coming in at four pounds over the limit, and forfeiting twenty percent of his purse as a result. Now, Diaz had been sitting out over a year complaining that he wasn't paid enough. You'd think that, given his financial complaints, he'd do everything he could not to miss weight and lose a bunch of money. It doesn't end there. The UFC broadcast a segment with Diaz Saturday night that saw him walk out of a promotional interview after being asked about opponent Rafael dos Anjos' skill set. These are the interviews the UFC shows before fights to give fans a glimpse of how fighters are approaching their opponents. They're pretty standard fare, and nothing overly controversial is generally brought up. The question about dos Anjos certainly seemed harmless enough. Something irked Diaz however. His antics cost him a $10,000 fine. And after all the attitude, he was badly beat in the cage by dos Anjos, who game in with a solid game plan and utilized kicks to chop Diaz down to size. In fact, it was one of the best kick clinics seen in the UFC since Aldo vs. Faber (or Aldo vs. Nearly Anyone). After the fine and the forfeiture of twenty percent of his purse, Diaz is going to have even more financial complaints no doubt.
