5 Exciting Things About League Two Next Season

1. Promotion Contenders

League Two has 4 promotion places up for grabs with 3 automatic places and one from the playoff spot and so with a lot of chances to gain promotion it means that pretty much every team in the division has a shot at going up. Teams like Burton Albion, Cheltenham Town or Northampton who all finished in the playoff places but were unable to clinch the final promotion spot will have a chance of going one step further next season.

Other possible contenders could also come from the teams that were relegated last year, normally dropping down a division means parts of your squad should be of a higher standard than the opponents you€™re now facing so sides like Scunthorpe and Hartlepool should be aiming high looking to top the table and make up for the disappointment of relegation.

Another team I think might have an outside chance of going up this year is newly promoted Newport County. The Welsh side won the Conference playoffs after finishing 3rd in the table but they lead from the top of the Conference for several months before an alarming dip in form almost took them out of the playoffs. They might appear the smallest team in the league but the beauty of League Two is that any team has a chance of getting promotion and moving up the footballing ladder.
