5 Heroes & 4 Villains From Newcastle 2-1 West Ham

1. Gigi Wijnaldum

Where Shelvey's influence quietened in the second half as Newcastle started to become a little nervous, Wijinaldum ran his heart out to keep the advantage in Newcastle's hands as he tracked down to win the ball-back and sprinted forward with his frighteningly lightning place to glide past players and turn defence to attack. He provided a great assist for the first goal and his desire to get himself in a position for the second was quality and his finish was well taken. The security of both Colback and Shelvey behind him should give him a license to play deeper up the field and his 9 goals scored on Tyneside this season show just how effective he can be in the latter third of the field. If he starts playing as well away from home as he does at home, we could see United march up that table. Wijnaldum was magnificent today and as was remarked to me after the game by more than a few people, you do have to just wonder how we will be able to keep hold of such a talent if he keeps up the high intensity and quality of his performances. He feels like an Arsenal quality player and those types of talent don't usually see out their contracts here. Now read on for 'The Villains'...
