5. Fabricio Coloccini

A harsh addition, granted, seeing as he didn't even take to the field due to injury - but therein lies the main issue. This is certainly not a criticism of Coloccini for missing the game after suffering a mild Achilles injury, because that could not be helped, but his absence exposed just how horrendously short in defensive cover Newcastle really are. The pairing of Jamaal Lascelles and Mike Williamson - with no recognised centre-back named on the bench - was a disaster waiting to happen, and so ultimately it proved. Newcastle need Coloccini back, and quickly - otherwise he could well find himself as a harsh entry on the next addition of Heroes and Villains as well...
