5. Tim Krul

The Dutchman was crucial for the Magpies in the opening 45 minutes, ensuring they remained in the game despite Sacramento having numerous opportunities. Two wonderful saves from free-kicks - one which he jumped up to his right to tip over, and the other where he dived low to his left to flick round the post - displayed Krul at his best. Toon supporters will hope to see much of the same throughout the upcoming Premier League campaign, and not the limp performances Krul put in last season. It's 10 years since Krul arrived on Tyneside and he is top class on his day, so he could help propel the Magpies back up the table in 2015-16.
