5 NFL Quarterbacks Who Will Improve In 2017 (And 5 Who Won't)

5. Up - Philip Rivers

Philip Rivers, one of the league's most consistently good quarterbacks, hit a rough patch last year. He threw a career high 21 interceptions with an 87.9 quarterback rating, the second worst of his career.

He struggled to win games with a floundering defense and a receiving corp battered beyond recognition. However, despite all that, he still threw for 4,300+ yards and a career high 33 touchdowns, and now, heading into 2017, things are looking very up for Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers have reasons to be optimistic on both sides of the ball. On defense, the pass rushing duo of Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa will strike fear into the hearts of quarterbacks everywhere, while on offense, top receiver Keenan Allen will be returning from an injury that sidelined him for most of last season, they added top rookie Mike Williams in the draft, and running back Melvin Gordon looks to build on the 1,600+ rushing yards he logged in 2016. The Chargers are better, top to bottom, and Philip Rivers will benefit immensely from that improvement.

Virgil Atkinson hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
