1. David Beckham
What can be said about this man has probably already been said ten times over, such is the high regard of which he is held both on the pitch and off. A knight of the realm in waiting, Beckham has had many philanthropic interests since his days at Manchester Utd, becoming a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2005. A founding member of the Malaria No More Leadership Council and a keen supporter of Help for Heroes, Beckham has also found time to launch the Victoria and David Beckham Charitable Trust. With a unique ability to effect so many peoples lives at once, he can also find time to reach those in need on an individual level. In 2007, 19-year-old cancer patient Rebecca Johnstone, received a surprise phone call from the man himself, after her Aunt had contacted his representatives informing them how a big a fan she was of the footballer. A few days later, she was in receipt of a signed Real Madrid shirt. Signing for PSG in January 2013 (of course, donating his entire wage to charity), it could be argued that Beckham is sadly entering the twilight of his career. Whilst those in the footballing community will mourn the day he eventually hangs up his boots, I, for one, am looking forward to seeing what hes got to offer as his next act. Prime Minister anyone?
