5 Notorious Sportsmen Who Had Run-Ins With The Law

1. OJ Simpson

OJ Simpson OJ is the obvious choice for number 1 on this list, if not for the simple reason that most people know OJ for his "run" off the field than on it. But he remains one of the NFL's most decorated Running Backs, becoming the first player to rush over 2000 yards in a single season and having multiple 1000+ rushing yards seasons, he also rushed a total of 11,236 over his career, including 61 Rushing Touchdowns. Simpson has also won numerous awards for his abilities, being named the MVP on a few separate occasions. However, OJ is known by most people for the infamous low speed car chase, after Simpson was accused of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. Footage of the car chase is now a famous moment in American history, as TV channels switched from their regular coverage to show live footage of the chase between Simpson and the police, interrupting the 1994 NBA final series. The criminal trial against Simpson was dubbed the "trial of the century", as Simpson's defense lawyers successfully argued against the case, saving the former Running Back from jail time. While Simpson was found not guilty in the criminal trial, it wasn't the last time Simpson found himself in a court room. In 2007, Simpson was arrested for breaking into a Las Vegas hotel-casino and stealing memorabilia, as well as being accused of kidnapping, coercion and conspiracy. In October 2008, "Juice" and his co-defendants were found guilty and sentenced to 33 years at the Lovelock Correction Center. Source: The Inquisitr Share your thoughts below.
