5 Players Most Likely To Leave Chelsea This Summer

3. Ramires

In his first two seasons for Chelsea, Ramires looked like he was well on the way to filling the huge gap left by Michael Essien's decline and eventual departure. He was devastatingly quick, tough in the challenge and capable of scoring some nifty goals, winning Chelsea's 2012 Goal Of The Year award for a scrumptious chip against Barcelona. Unfortunately, his form the following season started to waver, with his non-stop running becoming a point of frustration when started losing the ball far too easily, while his tackling started to become increasingly reckless. While still a good player on his day, you never know which Ramires is going to turn up. He's every bit as quick and agile as in his prime, yet his passing, movement and tackling become serious liabilities when he's frustrated or not concentrating properly. He can score scintillating, important goals such as his winning strike against Crystal Palace last season, but can also get himself sent off out of sheer stupidity, as happened following a nasty challenge on El Ahmadi during Chelsea's shock loss to Aston Villa last March. His versatility and energy can be huge assets, yet Chelsea could probably attract a huge fee from the likes of Real Madrid for his services, far exceeding the value of his intermittent contribution to the team and contributing funds to invest in a homegrown alternative like Ross Barkley or, better yet, Paul Pogba.
