1. Investment
I use the term investment lightly. Celtic's scouting system has worked wonders over the years, and has recently sourced players who have left for over 10 times their purchase value. Ki, Wanyama, Wilson and Hooper have collectively generated over £20m in profits and because of which we are a very financially balanced company. However, I feel as though Celtic are forever burrowing for the diamond in the rough, and although players like Hooper & Wanyama are a testament to a fantastic scouting system lets not forget the awful signings. Players like El Kaddouri, Bangura, Brozek, Daryl Murphy, Ibrahim Rabiu, Miku and Lassard, have all failed to impress and we've released them all for next to nothing. I appreciate all teams make bad signings, and it may be difficult to bring proven quality to play in the Scottish Premiership but I believe Celtic should be investing in players with proven abilities. If Amido Balde turns out to be the next Ibrahimovic then Lennon is a genius but if not we can comfortably afford a £7-8m player on £25-28k a week but we seem adamant on unearthing a superstar and accept the costs of bringing a donkey in who looked like a stallion on YouTube. I know a lot of people will disagree with me. Celtic are a buy-to-sell club and I suspect the board are probably against higher risk spending when you can spend low to sell high, but without investing in players with proven abilities at Champions league level you're just relying on signing Henrik Larsson for £600k again and how many people win the lottery twice? Let me know what you think, have i missed anywhere else that Celtic need to improve?
Aaron Murphy
I'm Aaron from England and I've got for football what Russell Brand had for sex and heroin. I follow Celtic & Barcelona religiously and spend hours watching the majority of televised games. Kinda depressing when you write it down but i'm happy with my existence.
