5 Reasons Newcastle United Won't Finish In The Top Four

3. No Permanent Strikers

The club also have a problem at the other end of the field, with only Loic Remy their real goalscorer in the side with eight goals already this season. The problem with this is that he is only on loan, and has not exactly made any noises of being hopeful of securing a permanent deal with the club. The Magpies were beaten to Remy's signature by Queens Park Rangers back in January of this year when it seemed certain the striker would sign on at St. James' Park. Once QPR were relegated at the end of last seaosn however, the Frenchman could not wait to leave, and Newcastle director of football Joe Kinnear quickly moved in and snapped up the 26-year-old on a season-long loan. Papiss Cisse has severely gone off the boil since his lightning start to life at the club, and Shola Ameobi has claimed that he is looking to create a shop window for himself at next year's World Cup with Nigeria, hoping to tie up a move from Newcastle once his contract expires in the summer. With these three players the club's only strikers, they need reinforcements, and every time Remy plays and scores, his price gets higher and higher, so if the club are to seal a deal for the former Marseille attacker they will have to do so quickly.
