5 Reasons Tottenham Could Win The Premier League Title This Season

4. Strong Quality Squad

Spurs have built one of the most talented, strongest all round squads in the Premier League. Any manger would kill to have the kind of strength in depth Villas Boas has at his disposal. Just taking a small look at his squad shows just what strength AVB has to call on and how many great players Spurs have to use over the season.

In goal Hugo Lloris found it tough at the start of his Spurs career now the Frenchmen is firmly the number one at White Hart Lane putting in a number of high quality performances last year. Brad Friedel, while in the twilight of his career can still produce some big match winning saves and this season will be used as the number two keeper with the odd cup and Europa League game thrown in.

In the centre of defence Michael Dawson had an amazing 2012 where he was nearly sold to QPR in the summer transfer window only for 6 months later to be back in the Spurs team as captain and a key player in the team. He has also formed a very solid partnership with the classy Belgium centre back Jan Vertonghen who has proved to have been a fantastic purchase for AVB. The return of Younes Kaboul from a serious knee injury is great news for Spurs too bolstering their sometimes injury prone centre backs.

The return of Danny Rose too could be important this year. Rose had a very good season on loan at Sunderland where the young England left back was one of the best players at the struggling Black Cats. He is the perfect attacking full back to compliment the ultra-attacking Kyle Walker on the right hand side and both will be eying up the World Cup at the end of the season.

AVB has been beefing up the centre of midfield during the transfer window with the big signing of Paulinho who had a very impressive debut at Palace. The imposing Etienne Capone too has been brought in for more midfield muscle alongside Sandro and Dembélé who were one of the best centre midfield pairings in the whole league last season.

Spurs' most attacking ingenuity will always come from the flanks with the always dangerous Aaron Lennon joined by the likes of Lewis Holtby and Gylfi Sigurðsson who is now expected to play more in his favoured central position this year with the loss of Clint Dempsey. The new attacking winger Chadli also looks to be a smart bit of business for Spurs and it gives them a multitude of attacking options.

In attack of course there is the always reliable Jermain Defoe who was in great scoring touch last year and with the World Cup fast approaching you know he will be trying extra hard to get on that plane to Brazil. He will be sharing the bench most of the season however with the always polarizing Adebayor looking to do much better this season than the last where he ran more cold than hot but still can change a match in an instant.

As you can see Spurs don€™t just have a strong team but an all over strong squad of players fit to challenge anyone in the division. This can be proven in the fact they can allow such talented players like Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore to both leave and join Hull on loan. Even Scott Parker once the foundation of a Spurs team has been allowed to leave and join their London rivals Fulham.

Spurs clearly have a full squad more than capable of challenging for top honours the trick for AVB to getting all of his large multi-talented squad to all perform at their best. But if he can have his squad performing at their best level then Spurs have a great chance as the championship winning talent is there.
