Jonjo Shelvey's passing ability is on par with the best midfielders in the Premier League and his management of the middle of the field is a fundamental cog in Garry Monk's well-oiled possession-based system. In fact, it was Shelvey's perfectly-weighted through-ball that put Bafetimbi Gomis in on goal and led to Thibaut Courtois sending-off and Swanseas equaliser at Stamford Bridge last weekend. The 23-year-old only scored three goals and grabbed just five assists last season and will be looking to improve on that this campaign. He certainly has the shooting ability as he continues to improve under the management of Monk and, if he keeps going at his current rate, the midfielder could put himself in contention for another England call-up.
